It's nice to know that other people take elevator courtesy that seriously. The elevator is the modern yardstick of one's politesse. I mean, you are stuck in this little space, usually with many others, waiting patiently while the thing takes its sweet-ass time to the ninth floor, all the while stopping at this floor and that so that these other shmoes can get off or can stand there and say "Going down? No? Up? Ok, nevermind." and you can sigh but not too forcefully because you didn't have that mint and you wouldn't want to offend anybody.

i don't know if romance is rubbish. it comes so naturally for me. it can be so amazingly intoxicating. it can make the world seem beautiful and fill your heart with happiness and laughter. but like any other drug, it's the aftermath that sucks. the withdrawal that leaves you cold and lonely and empty and lost. that loss that leaves you questioning and doubting. it's that twist of life creates both extremes from a single thing. to be a hopeless romantic is to be a scarred optimist.
