Wow. I just got my feedback on this piece. I had the most minor/least number of edits (2 edits: removing "in=person" and lower casing "city") of any of the students, as well as high praise for my lead from the instructor. I guess this would support that I am too hard on myself whenit comes to my creative work. Here it is: Theyve plucked out the unsightly billboards that littered the streets surrounding the Acropolis and replaced them with trees and other greenery. Automobile traffic has been shut out of the historic city center in favor of creating a wide pedestrian promenade that will allow visitors to meander past hundreds of refurbished neoclassical buildings. These are just a few of the changes being made to spruce up the majestic, history-steeped background for the 2004 Olympics in Athens, August 13-29. The return of the Olympic Games to the city of their birth 2,500 years ago, and their modern revival in 1896, gave local officials with the push they needed to spruce up the city to better welcome the 5.3 million ticketed spectators, 10,500 athletes, and 21,000 media representatives expected to descend upon the city for the Games. Thanks to the historical precedence, hosting the games in Athens allows for some unique Olympic firsts that have the potential to create a sense of history and pageantry for television viewers as well as the Athens spectators: *The Marathon will be run on the original route taken by the herald who announced Athens victory over the Persians at the Battle of Marathon in 499 BC. *Cycling will take place in the historic city centre surrounding the Acropolis *Archery will take place in the Panathinaiko marble stadium where the first modern Olympic Games took place *Shot put will take place at the ancient stadium of Olympia the first competition to be held there in 1600 years and the first time women have ever been allowed to compete within its walls Additional information on the games, including details on the resumption of ticket sales on June 1, can be found at athens2004.com

Give us the rundown from that meeting, will you? I'm interested to see what's thought about this where you are, rather than from where the Appalachian(?) trailer parks the accused soldiers come from. Dxx
