I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment. It's kind of weird how people can fade in and out of our lives.

Sorry about flaky friends, indeed it is heartbreaking. But, Happy Birthday to you fellow Leo! Would love to meet up sometime for a drink. Make some new, different friends?

Let's do! I am kind of crazy - in event execution mode right now- but let's find something fun to do where we can have loads of wine.

I'm sorry too about your b-day disappointment but I hope you and your boy can discover a new b-day tradition for you together. I wish I could've given you those magazines! I'm just glad they went to a grateful new owner. Well, we can always do another CD mix swap someday. Happy birthday.

i randomly came upon your blog and even though i'm a complete stranger, i felt the need to comment on this entry. first of all, happy birthday! i hope you and your boy find a special way to celebrate. also, having flaky friends truly can hurt. it stings when they send the message, intended or not, that you take a backseat to other priorities. especially when you've been a good friend to them. i don't know how old you are, but it is so hard to make and keep close friends the older one gets (esp. after one leaves school and everyone marries and has kids and has so many competing priorities). ugh. i totally relate, and to make matters worse, am one of the few singles left among my "circle" of friends. either way, unresponsiveness from friends reallly does hurt. so i'm sorry to read it. but don't let it disappoint you TOO much on your birthday. best wishes!
