2004-08-01 - 3:30 p.m. I got to help out at Sharon's library last Wednesday, shushing small children during the Zoomobile's visit. I was extremely disappointed that despite the program being entitled "creatures of the night" there werene't any cute little bats for me to pet. I have been assured, howeverr, that a Halloween visit from the bat lady is planned, which will allow me to finally meet and greet a cute little bat. Yeah! I am listening to BBC news on our local NPR station. This is the first time I've been able to hear a radio station on my craptastic stereo receiver in about a year and a half. The remote still doesn't work (so it take a few minutes to change and tune in a radio station), but I don't care. I can now listen to This American Life whenever I'm up early enough, and thus not have to wait a year at a time for Sarah Vowell's witty essays to be collected in a hardcover. All this makes me so happy I am compelled to bake something frivolous -- such as those pretty chocolate cupcakes on the cover of How to be a Domestic Goddess... ;) xo me any comments?
